It's all about location
Halsvik's super-quarry in Gulen is situated
just 50 miles north of Bergen on the west coast of Norway. It is
ideally located to serve the ports of the Norwegian, North and
Baltic seas. In addition, the quarry at Kvalsund in Finnmark, near
Hammerfest, means that aggregates are available from the far north
of the country.
With established customers from Norway to Latvia, Northern
Europe to Scandinavia, Russia to the U.K. and long-term
contracts with the North Sea oil industry, Halsvik has earned its
reputation for quality products and a flexible service.
From continued investment in new locations and technology,
capacity is increasing, giving the ability to reach even more
customers from further afield.
Rapid turnaround
Benefiting from the deep water quays, the sites at Kvalsund
and Halsvik offer rapid conveyor shiploading facilities, 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week.
The quays can accommodate ships of up to 60,000 tonnes capacity,
handling and loading at a rate of 4,000 tonnes per hour.
No stone unturned
The quarries at Kvalsund and Halsvik give access to a consented
reserve of over 200 million tonnes. The crushing plant has the
capacity to process 14,000 tonnes of rock every day.
